Emma at 4 months

Wow, its been four months already! Emma's stats at today's check up:

Weight: 14.5 pounds 75th %
Height: 24.75 inches 75th %
Head Circumference: 16.75" 75th-95th %

When she was born we were all excited, thinking she'd have more hair than Avery as a baby. No such luck. Kid lost all her newborn hair!

Took her shots like a champ - didn't even cry on the first one, but did on the second one. Fatty thighs come in handy.

At four months, she loves to:
- "talk" to anyone who will listen, sometimes to herself. Cooing, buzzing, raspying noises already
- loves to smile at people. Gets upset if we ignore her
- likes sitting on the bouncer and seeing everyone rather than laying on the ground staring up at toys. Gets bored easily and starts whining for someone to play with her
- loves to watch her big sister. Avery adores her as well, sitting there hugging, kissing and holding her hands while Emma bounces happily on her bouncer. When Emma whines in the bouncer, Avery rushes to her and rocks her a bit, holds her hands and says "Don't cry, Emma! Big sister is here!" *sigh* my heart sings!
Silly faces!
- she started sleeping through the night at 3.5 months, from 8am to 8pm, but the last week she's been waking up every few hours, upset that she broke out of her swaddle and arms are flailing about... At least I don't need to feed her. I just wrap her back up and she falls back asleep
- she averages about 3 naps a day, about 30 minutes to 90 minutes. Even longer if she's in the carseat
- drinks 5-6 oz per feeding
- still working on tummy time - she's not a big fan of it. That head of hers is pretty heavy!
- drooling a lot already
- has a lopsided head. As a newborn she preferred one side over the other which resulted in her head being flat on a diagonal on the back of her head. We're working on getting her a little helmet for her head to round out that noggin. Stay tuned.

Emma is quite a sweet little baby. Not as mellow as Avery as a baby, but as long as you keep her diaper fresh and tummy full, she is pretty much content. My two little girls just put a smile on my face every day!

This month we went to visit our friend Liam! The little dude is 7 months and 24 pounds, with a full mop of hair and so sooo handsome!
Chillin' in Liam's crib
We also went to parties! Last weekend there were two birthdays on the same day. In the morning was Ethan's bday party, Avery's classmate from school. So nice of Ethan's parents to invite her class!
Inflatable obstacle course + facepainted Avery = disasterous smear on tshirt
Next party - Tyler's 4th birthday!! Never ones to disappoint, Kathy and Will got a kids music group to perform for the kids. They were choreographed and everything! hehe very cute.

Avery was shy and preferred to observe from afar

Actaully she took the chance while all the kids were watching the show to have the bounce house all to herself.
Dancing. Cuz she thinks she's so clever.
Tyler had a giant smile throughout the party, and Katelyn was very busy pacing the grassy area while her grandma chased after her. She even stopped to offer me some ice chips. Sadly I was not quick enough to take pictures of them :(

Emma enjoyed milk over at the house, as well as a nice nap in the shade. It was a nice Saturday afternoon to catch up with friends. Thanks Changs!

For Avery's birthday we were going to just take her to Disneyland but my overactive mom instincts are taking over and I'm tempted to throw a party of some sort. Its summer time! and its so nice having everyone getting together and catching up! We'll see... maybe we'll go mess up someone else's house. Any volunteers, Daisy Ama and Grace Ama?
