Avery's 1st Thanksgiving!

We had quite a weekend! I made a standing rib roast, braised lamb shanks, and greenbeans with roasted butternut squash. Cindy and Kevin made roasted beet and orange fennel salad - I never had fresh beets before, and yeah, it tastes really good! they also made roasted fennel and rosemary mash potatoes, and italian stuffed mushrooms that disappeared within minutes of exiting the oven. Grandma made her famous stir-fried vermicelli and hot and sour soup. yummy! Howard was on Avery duty, so that meant he was in charge of taking naps with her while everyone was busy in the kitchen. Avery got passed around like a sack of hot potatoes, and she loved every minute!

Tadaa! Avery's wearing her Thanksgiving outfit! flannel jumper with little turkeys all over it saying "gobble gobble". hehe
Thanks Uncle Fong, for taking our family Thanksgiving portrait! Look at that, even got avery to look at the camera.

Check it out! First Thanksgiving with the newest member of the family! Flaunt the bling!

Friday evening, dinner at Taps in Brea, where we argue over how many raw oysters each person gets, washing it down with their famous Cream Ale. And true to Shih family form, this is how we feed our grandkids...
Notice how Avery is staring as Grandma chugs her beer. Don't learn from Grandma...
Avery likes her fleece hat from Auntie Cindy. She just doesn't know it yet... We'll wear it when we go up to the Bay Area one day.

Happy 1st Thanksgiving Avery!
