Hi Jonah, My Name is Avery

Guess what we did this weekend! We went up to Ventura to meet our new little friend Jonah! Only 2 weeks have passed, and he has already gained noticeable weight, and even more gorgeous than his first week!
Avery wanted a hands-on introduction. "Hi! You have nice hair!"
It's only been what, 10 months since I've held a newborn. But he was so little and LIGHT, that for a few minutes, I kinda felt as lost as I did back then. Is that craziness or what? All the memories come flooding back. The breastfeeding, the tickling their little feet so they stay awake for a feeding, even the smell of poo of a breastmilk-only diet. Ah yes, much more pleasant than the solids variety that we currently experience...

Ok I can not resist posting a couple other pictures that I jacked from Tomi and Chris's album.
Aww, he's smiling after a satisfying meal! That reminds me that I have a picture of Avery, also at 2 weeks, smiling after a meal.

2 week old Avery meets Auntie Tomi for the first time, and passes the baby torch.
She looks Auntie Tomi in the eyes and says "you know you want one". And then...2 week old Jonah meets Auntie Jacqueline for the first time, and passes the baby torch. Tee hee. (Note to Jacq/Vatche. Seriously, take your time. Once you get one of these, there's NO GOING BACK. They don't seem to go away. Especially at 4am in the morning.)

So we get to Ventura at noon, and I start feeding Avery her lunch. Then Jonah had his lunch. Then Avery had her milk. Then we got to the harbor, and Avery took a major dump, which took me a while to change in the back of the car, since it involved some leakage. Incidentally, the Ridouts have coined a new term: Reverse Blowout. Contrary to what you'd think, it does not involve hair. Rather, it involves poop. Spraying in the wrong direction. So between the two babies, we didn't even eat lunch until 3pm. Also I will add that Jonah slept the entire time at our 2 hour lunch. He is as good a baby as they come!

Awww...Wow. Tomi's a mommy now too. Chris is a daddy now too. Oh the fun they'll have!
