Howard's 1st Father's Day!

Surprising Howard is no easy task. Because we see each other during the day at work, and then go home and see each other at night, it is almost impossible to pull off anything. So a few weeks ago, I snuck in 20 minutes on my home from work and went to Michaels to pick up a crafty project for Avery to give to him for father's day. I hid it in a secret compartment on the shotgun side of my car, thinking there's no way he will check there. But, oh, there's always a way. A couple days later, Howard asks me "what'd you get from Michaels? I found this in your car" OH Great. There is absolutely not a corner in this house that i can hide anything from this guy! hehe Anyways, I painted the letters, and what I was hoping would be neat little finger prints on the frame became one big mess as soon as the paint touched Avery's busy little fingers. So this is the aftermath:
This is quite possibly the ugliest photo frame ever...

The Artist with the Proud Recepient.

Then Daddy requested pancakes for breakfast, so we enjoyed a nice meal outdoors!
Avery says Come! Join us!

We've had this patio set for 4 years, when we first moved into our house. I think someone sat in it once at our housewarming party, and never again was it used, collecting dust in the corner of our yard. One day as I was feeding Avery inside, I noticed that she's always staring out the window and seemed to enjoy listening to the birds chirping. So I decided to drag the patio set over to a more useful location in our backyard. And it works out well. Avery loves sitting outside! She listens to the birds, watches the scenery, and enjoys some finger foods while sitting on her booster seat.

This weekend we also celebrated our 4 year anniversary. Time flies!
Sitting on my desk when I walked into the office on Thursday. Yay!

With every year there is more to celebrate. This year we celebrate our first anniversary as parents to a beautiful little girl named Avery.
On Saturday night, we dropped Avery off at Grandma/pa Shih's house and went off to watch a movie called The Hangover (I had to find out how it can induce the labors of not one, but TWO pregnant friends. Yes, it was quite a funny movie), and then dinner at Summit House in Fullerton. Cute English cottage garden feel, nice location, perched up on a hilltop overlooking Fullerton and Brea. Food was not bad, but we thought the prime rib was so so. Definitely old school atmosphere. But it was nice to spend some time alone and have ourselves a little date. And afterwards, we hurried back to my parents house to pick up our little monster and go home.
Yup. That's our little monster!

Haha. I like the candid shots of Howard's 'fro! It'll probably be a while before Avery will have enough hair for a bad hair day. :)
