Avery's on the Move!

It's funny that she didn't start crawling till almost 10 months, but on the first day of crawling, she was already pulling up, to our dismay. Now only 6 weeks after she started crawling, she's already cruising pretty well. This is bad news for Mommy and Daddy's plans for lounging in one place while watching her.

She's climbing the stairs! link Not very well yet, i might add. So cute when she tumbles down when she trips. hehe Jiggling baby thighs are too cute.

And here we are cruising the banister. Her new thing is to stare at people with her head down and smile while shaking her head. LOL Its funny and cute as long as she is smiling. otherwise she'd just look like that evil child in the movie Orphan. *shudder*

There are altogether too many similarities between Avery and her auntie Cindy. First the eczema, and now this staring thing. My sister used to look at people from the corner of her eye too just like that, except she didn't smile. Honey, do NOT learn from Auntie Cindy!

She likes to wedge herself in tight spots. like the tiny space between the ottoman and coffee table against the wall, or this hamper that we got from Ikea. Daddy sent this picture to me while Mommy was getting a facial and lunch with Auntie Jacqueline. Yay for picture updates during Daddy Duty Days!

On Sunday we went to a little girl named LeighAnne's 1st birthday party. I've been friends with her parents Jennifer and David on Facebook since Avery and LeighAnne were born, about 3 weeks apart. Since then, I've been stalking, i mean following LeighAnne's growth through pictures and updates, and its so nice to finally meet the family in person! They are such nice people.
Match the baby to the mommy! (tough, i know, since the babies look like their Daddies!)
Avery, LeighAnne, Orion. Avery is 3 weeks younger than the other two babies, who are cousins who share the same birthday! Note the difference in size between Orion and the ladies. Goodness, he's a hefty one at 28 pounds! Compare that to Avery and LeighAnne's 21 pounds!

As you can see, Avery is not an easy one to hold these days. The little sucker squirms and lurches to get down and crawl around. She can barely sit still to drink her milk, and after a few bites she refuses to sit in her high chair and eat her solids without some kind of distraction.

Taking a time out on the porch outside while the party is hoppin' inside. This is a first, you guys. She's never fallen asleep in this stroller before, even when Grandma takes her for long walks when she's tired and fussy. She was going on 5 hours of wakefulness and getting grumpy and super tired, so I reclined the stroller and propped up the feet, and walked her around for about 15 minutes. She fell asleep while chewing on her bib. Slept for nearly an hour out on the deck and probably would have slept longer, had a group of teenagers bouncing a basketball walked right by her and woke her up from her slumber. But it was a nice refreshing nap, and she was quickly back into the party.

One last picture. This was at the playtime at the local library. Everyone was flapping the parachute. Most of the other kids can walk already, so Avery just sat underneath and enjoyed the ups and downs of the big colorful parachute.

hee hee! Ah, the simple pleasures of childhood!
