This past Friday, we finally returned to our Playtime at the local library after a long month and a half hiatus. The last time we were there, Avery was not yet walking. This time around, Avery was so excited about being able to walk around in playtime! Still wouldn't go in the tunnel though... YAY! PLAYTIME! The instructor had these fun handkerchiefs to play peek-a-boo with. I'd put it on her head, then yank it off. Most hilarious thing in the world to babies, I swear. On Saturday, we went over to our friends Kathy and Will's house in Irvine to join the festivities as they each turn... actually I don't know what age they're turning. I think Kathy's 29 and Will is 33? Anyways, they grilled up some yummy stuff, along with mountains of food!
Avery hung out with Tyler and Samantha, and had a ball playing with Tyler's toys! Tyler's house is like the North Pole, with his parents being Santa and Mrs Claus. Seriously, the kid's got every toy known to man. This makes it totally ideal when you have a kid who needs to burn off some energy! Check it out! I'm in a ball pit in a shape of a car!
Now I'm bouncing in the bounce pit! She's not as wimpy on it now as she was at Tyler's birthday party at the Pump It Up last time. But she's still not THAT cool with it yet. hehe
Now I'm playing on a toddler-sized baby grand piano! That Kathy thinks of everything. Oh, and they also have a adult-sized piano too!
Group picture! Avery was trying to squirm out so she can go get at those slides in the back. The Changs recently put in an astroturf in the backyard complete with a putting green. SO RAD. I love it! No muddy wet grass, much cleaner and practical than real grass. PLus you save so much money on water bills! It is, however, much more expensive than real grass. But so useful! I am smitten by their fake grass. You can't see in the picture but the backyard also has a house, a fort with rock-climbing thing, picnic table, two slides, and a buggy car. They have enough toys for an army of toddlers. Happy Birthdays, Kathy and Will! Avery and Tyler playing on the slides. So cute. A big one and a little one! They got along after a while! At first, there were some sharing and pushing situations that left Tyler crying and Avery a bit confused and guilty-looking. First, Avery took Tyler's markers, and Tyler didn't like that. hehe. Then later, Avery pushed Tyler to get at some toys in the corner, which Tyler wasn't expecting and he fell over, quite upset. Oh dear. I hope we don't have a bully on our hands.
WEEE!! She was kind of taken a-back by the slide at first. But then she got up and immediately wanted to slide again, and again, and again. Then she started climbing up, slide first! I will need to go get a slide for her. But problem is, our grass in the backyard is all wet and muddy in the mornings. And if I put the slide on concrete i'm afraid if she falls off of it. I guess I can put the slide in the garage, but then Howard's car will be banished permanently outside of the garage..hehe
And i leave this post with a video from a week ago. Avery picking up some funny expressions and gestures from Daddy...
She watches us intently now, tries to copy what we do. When you sing "itsy bitsy spider" she will stick her hands up in the air like a "spider" and when you sing, she will sing too. Too funny.
She also will not sit in a shopping cart for too long anymore, insisting on going down to walk the aisles of Target or Lowes by herself, laughing at the holiday decorations, and getting scared by a hooded ghost at Lowes last night. Halloween is gonna be too much fun! I still am lost as to what she should be for halloween. Ah well. Still another month!
