Happy Birthday Jasmine!

This Saturday was Super fun! We went over to Irvine Regional Park in Orange to celebrate Jasmine's 1st birthday party. The park is quite nice, with a lake full of water activities, even a pumpkin patch, hayride, and pony rides. We gotta go back and do those activities, when Avery is old enough to enjoy. I really liked how it was a big park, but we had our own private picnic area with plenty of shaded parking close to the picnic area. So nice!
Birthday Princess wearing her tu-tu, sitting in her bouncing castle. hee hee Maria and Jerome went all out - bouncing castle, face painting, cupcake-shaped cake, cupcake-shaped pinata, and of course, cupcakes!

Avery got to hang out with her Uncle Henry, as well as a bunch of our friends. She ran/ wobbled around exploring the picnic area, getting dirt all over her butt, legs, feet, shoes, hands...
Hi Uncle Henry!
Avery got her face painted! She sat on my lap for the lady face painter. She was pretty cooperative - didn't really care what the nice lady did to her cheeks as she was completely distracted by the glittery powder cases in her arsenal of face painting and kid-entertaining tools. True professional!
Just hanging out with Daddy!
Time to hit the pinata! Got my blindfold on, lets do this!
Ok she totally cheated and took off the blindfold. Then when Howard showed her how to whack the pinata with the pole, she jumped to action. I get to hold a big stick and hit stuff with it? SIGN ME UP! POw! POW POW! Actually she was kinda just touching the pole to the pinata, as if she was knighting the cupcake. Sir Cup Cake, if you will.
Stand back! Samurai Avery weilds a big sword!
Birthday Girl Jasmine takes a jab at it. I like the single-handed whack. She's fencing with Sir Cup Cake!
And then the older kids got a whack at the pinata, and out drops the candies. Avery is clearly unprepared for the mayhem that ensues. By the time the dust settled and she thought of getting some candies herself, all the good stuff is gone, leaving a few dum dums. hee hee
The Uncles exhibit their nieces together. You know its getting late when toddlers start stuffing fists into their mouths.
Group pic! I love my new buddy!

(Moment of silence for Sir Cup Cake. He was a trooper.)
