Hangin' with the Neighborhood Kids

This past Sunday, coming home from Avery's overnight stay at Grandma/pa's house, we came across a lemonade stand down the street from our house. We had to get some! The cute kids were raising money for Yucaipa's animal shelter. So nice to see young kids getting involved in volunteer work!

Avery and I came rolling up in Avery's pink car.

Me: Hi Guys!
Kids: Hi!
Me: How much for the lemonade?
Little Girl: 50 cents
Little Boy: Nooo, its 25 cents!
Me (thinking): Wow, little kids trying to price gouge me. Sneaky little fellas.

Although, I can understand the internal conflicts of pricing within a group of partners. One partner wants to low-ball the price and sell more lemonade. Another partner wants to capitalize on the captive audience in our enclosed gated community and charge a higher price. Fascinating display of economics played out just down the street!

I will give them credit for the brilliant idea of Gift with Purchase (GWP) that came with my cup of lemonade. These kids know how to do business!

Avery picked out a blue tootsie roll pop, as seen dangling from her fist.
Avery was clearly super excited about standing next to the kids for a picture, waving HIIII!!! at me as I was taking the picture.

What she was really thinking was: "Great customer service, Guys. But when I turn 8, I'm gonna own this joint with fresh pureed strawberry lemonade, and employ you guys to give out balloons and work signs up and down the street, have you go door to door with lemonade. I'll show you guys how to make some real money."

Hee hee. They're so cute!

Lemonade was horrible. Should have gotten a refund.
