Welcoming Jonah Christian Ridout

Oh man, good thing we went up to Ventura last weekend, because if it were this weekend, Tomi and Chris would have been a wee bit busy! Early Saturday morning, Tomi texted me a message saying her water broke after watching "Hangover" the night before, haha. I called to see if they were on the way to the hospital - nope, she's eating. Preparing for battle, if you will. Oh, smart lady. Didn't have strong contractions yet, I figured she'd have to wait a bit for the contractions to start. But little Jonah was not one for being late - within an hour of checking into the hospital, she was in active labor, and 2-3 hours later and with no epidural, Tomi gave birth to their new son, Jonah Christian Ridout, 8lbs, 0 oz, 21 inches at 5:55pm. Oh, I am so beside myself with happiness!
Look at this face! A perfect blend of asian and caucasian with gorgeous blond wavy hair! He makes me melt! *sigh* I love this picture. He has the most calm and attentive look on his face as if to say, I'm ready for the world!

My congratulations to Tomi and Chris. I am soo sooooo proud of Tomi, her pregnancy went so well and her labor went so flawlessly. I had a hard time sleeping this morning thinking about her in the hospital, blissful new mom, new dad, and new baby. Howard says its like I was having a baby. Seriously, my empathy takes many forms. I'm so going over to see them first thing next weekend. Stay tuned for pictures of my lips all over this kid's cheeks.
